What do we do?
What we do is channel that fast-paced life that the couple is accustomed to by teaching them how to use military skills to accomplish Life’s New Mission. We use the outdoors as a gateway to help them understand how important it is to keep positive attitudes as they go forward with their transition. We chose the outdoors because of its healing powers. This also lets them experience a different avenue of approach to clear the thoughts moving forward. Our mentorship program teaches them how to use skills that they have learned in the military to become successful. We use the SMEAC formula. A “SMEAC” is how a preplanned military operation is planned to achieve a successful outcome.
How do we do it?
Our mentors actively search for veteran couples in need. We recruit our participant couples from our partners across the United States in places like the VA Hospitals, Vet Centers and other private sources. We then invite the couple on a once in a lifetime type retreat at one of locations. We then enroll them into a lifelong mentorship program that teaches the couple how to set and achieve new goals. This mentorship provides the couple with first hand experience with their transition that will ultimately make them more successful.
What is our mentor program?
Our mentor program is filled by a all volunteer team of mentors from across the United States. Our mentors have all experienced military transition and have used their military skills to become successful members of their communities.
These lifelong mentors help the couples every step of the way by becoming a checkpoint for each stage of their transition. They teach them how to set and achieve goals to strengthen their relationship, and build a better future together.
What sets us apart?
We share the same values and visions as other nonprofits serving the veteran community. But what makes us different is our focus on the quality of the desired outcome. We have a desire to stay smaller to help 10 to 12 couples per year in a more detailed way. This allows us proper time to achieve the goals of our mentorship program successfully. .
